The Wedding Chaplain Podcast
Podcast Description:
The Wedding Chaplain Podcast exists to help couples prepare for more than a beautiful wedding day—it prepares you for a beautiful marriage.
Hosted by Dr. David Anderson, a minister with more than 1,800 weddings of experience. He is a pastor, counselor, author, and podcast host. This show serves as a practical, encouraging, and honest “premarital boot camp” for couples who want to build something strong, intentional, and lasting.
If you are engaged, seriously dating, or newly married, you will find clear guidance and real-world wisdom on communication, expectations, conflict, emotional and spiritual connection, family dynamics, and the habits that shape healthy marriages. Each episode blends expert insight with warmth, humor, and pastoral care, equipping you to navigate the everyday challenges and joys of marriage with confidence.
You will also hear conversations with long-married couples, wedding professionals, venues, vendors, mental health counselors, and fellow pastors and chaplains who bring their own stories and perspectives to the journey.
Whether you are planning your ceremony, preparing for premarital counseling, or simply wanting to strengthen your relationship, The Wedding Chaplain Podcast offers a steady, trustworthy voice to guide you toward a marriage marked by purpose, grace, and lifelong commitment.

Rev. Dr. David Anderson has walked over 1800 couples to their wedding day. And he wants to share that journey with you. This podcast is a boot camp or education for engaged couples preparing for their wedding day. Preparing for marriage and getting ready for a wedding are two separate things. We want you to have healthy marriages and perfect wedding ceremonies.
We are talking about DJs for your Wedding and Reception.
What is the best advice for couples getting ready for their wedding and their reception? How should couples approach their conversations with the DJ? What makes good song choices or playlists?
We talk about first dances, father-daughter dances, mother-son dances, anniversary dances, cutting-the-cake songs, and slow songs vs. fast songs.
And what are the things that couples don’t think about?
My guest on today’s episode is Mike Lazar, a professional DJ, MC, and music director whose journey in music began at the age of twelve, playing drums in church. From there, Mike expanded into guitar, singing, and eventually DJing, launching his own company, Lazar Productions, at just twenty years old.
Over time, his work led him into the world of live performance and music production, including opportunities to collaborate with top artists and Grammy- and Emmy-award-winning producers across the country. Today, Mike serves as the Music Director at First Baptist Church of Massillon, works with Rock the House Entertainment, and continues to run his own promotion work part-time.
In this conversation, we discuss creativity, calling, and stewarding talent well in both sacred and professional spaces. Whether you are a creative, a leader, or someone navigating multiple vocational lanes, Mike brings thoughtful insight and real-world experience to the table.
You can find links to Mike’s work and the organizations we discuss below.
