Authentically Disasterous the Podcast
Podcast Description:
Authentically Disasterous, the Podcast is where real-life resilience meets radical honesty. Co-hosted by two women who have lived through personal, natural, and systemic disasters, our show creates space for the stories and solutions often left out of crisis conversations. We explore what it means to survive—and rise—through trauma, inequity, climate change, public health failures, and everyday emergencies that disproportionately impact women and trauma survivors.
With trauma-informed values at our core, we blend storytelling, education, and advocacy to offer listeners both validation and actionable tools. Our episodes are raw, real, and unapologetically relevant—focused on empowering women to rise, no matter the storm.
If your story, mission, or expertise intersects with crisis, resilience, health equity, or women’s rights—we’d love to collaborate.

🎙️ Season 1 Theme: “Beyond the Breaking Point: Taking Up Space”
Our first season explores the power of reclaiming space—physically, emotionally, and politically—amid disaster and recovery. Topics include gender-based violence, climate-fueled displacement, preparedness through a feminist lens, systemic burnout, self-defense, and more.
🔥 Our Summer Mantra: “Turn Up the Heat, Not the Tolerance”
This summer, we’re turning up the volume on resistance, boundaries, and bold joy. This intertwined theme confronts the systems that continue to fail women—and celebrates the strength it takes to keep rising anyway. We’re spotlighting voices that embody unapologetic fire, personal power, and the tools women need to navigate crisis while taking up space with intention.
🌀 Our Flow:
To ensure we’re serving with purpose, integrity, and in ways that actually matter, we’re allowing Season 1 to unfold in alignment with the right guests, at the right time. We’re not chasing a rigid release schedule—we’re prioritizing quality over quantity. If aligned voices aren’t available to allow for weekly episode releases, we won’t force it. Our goal is to hold space for what’s real and let the season evolve with authenticity and trauma-informed care, while also refusing to fall victim to matriarchy burnout. Season 1 will include a total of 15 episodes, allowing us to go deep, stay intentional, and end strong.
🎯 We’re seeking guests who...
Have lived experience or professional expertise related to trauma, resilience, advocacy, or preparedness
Can speak to how identity (e.g., gender, race, ability, neurodivergence) shapes crisis navigation and recovery, especially in the context of serving and guiding women and trauma survivors
Offer actionable takeaways or compelling stories for women and trauma survivors navigating chaos
Are aligned with values of truth-telling, equity, and non-performative allyship
💡We welcome educators, clinicians, creators, first responders, researchers, organizers, survivors, and truth-tellers. You do not need to be a polished public speaker—you just need something real to say.
