Clear pitches still get ignored. Here's why — and the simple fix.  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Hi Newsletter Subscribers,

Last week, we talked about clarity — making it obvious who you're for, what the conversation is about, and what listeners would actually get from it.

That's important.
But this week, there's a second layer worth knowing about — because it explains something frustrating:

👉 why clear, well-written pitches still often get ignored.

🧠 Layer 2: timing & framing

Once a pitch is clear, the next question hosts are quietly asking is:

Why should this episode exist now?

Hosts aren't booking in isolation. They're juggling a lot at once:
🗂️ recent episodes
🧭 upcoming themes
❓ listener questions
🔋 their own energy and bandwidth

So when a pitch arrives that's clear but unanchored, the reaction is often:

“This is good… just not right now.”

That usually turns into silence — not because the pitch was bad, but because it didn't connect to the moment.

🔗 What makes a pitch feel timely

You don't need trends or urgency.
Good timing anchors are usually simple:
🔁 a follow-up to a recent episode
🔄 a counterpoint to something the host has discussed
⚠️ a mistake their audience keeps making
🧠 a question that keeps coming up
You're not just pitching a topic —
you're pitching its place in the feed.

🎙️ Guest: Simple pitch template (with optional link)

Hi (Host Name),

I noticed your recent episode on [specific topic] / the theme you've been exploring around [theme].

I work with [specific audience] who are currently struggling with [related tension or mistake], and I think it could make for a timely follow-up conversation for your listeners.

If useful, I've included a short one-pager with topic ideas here:
(single link)

Happy to share more if helpful.

Thanks,
(Your Name)

This works because it answers both layers:
✨ what the conversation is
🕰️ why it makes sense now

🧠 This week's simple move

✍️ Take one pitch you've already written
🕰️ Add one clear timing anchor
🚫 Don't rewrite the whole thing

<![endif]-->

That's it.

Next week, we'll look at what happens after a pitch lands — follow-ups, momentum, and how to stay on a host's radar without being annoying.
