Hi Newsletter Subscribers,

Finding the right podcast to feature your story, expertise, or message can be overwhelming. That's why we built the Podcast Discovery Database—to help you connect with active podcasts that are currently releasing episodes and featuring guests.

🚀 Now with over 1600+ podcasts (and growing daily), it's easier than ever to find a great show to pitch!

But finding podcasts is just the first step—the real magic happens when you reach out, pitch yourself effectively, and follow up. Here's how you can do that today.

🚀 But First: Get More Out of the Database

Even if you're not a Podcast Collab Club member yet, you can still:
Search by categories to find active podcasts.
View each podcast's Guest Score inside their profile.
See Content Themes to get an idea of what topics they cover.

However, Club members get even more benefits, including:
🔎 Sorting & filtering by Guest Score for faster searching.
📊 Full Podcast Insights including ideal guest types, audience preferences, and show format.
📅 Virtual Mixers – Live networking events to meet podcasters in real-time.
🎙️ Profiles, Podcasts, Episodes and many other tools to kickstart (or continue) your podcasting journey!

🚀 Want to unlock these exclusive features and book interviews even faster?

We can't wait to see you land amazing interviews and grow your network!

Back to the 4 step pitching guide.

Step 1: Find the Right Podcasts to Pitch

Start by searching for podcasts that align with your expertise.
Use categories & subcategories – Filter by topics that are most relevant to what you can speak about.
Look at the Guest Score – Every podcast has a Guest Score, which estimates how likely they are to feature guests. (You can see the Guest Score inside each podcast profile, but Podcast Collab Club members can sort and filter by it for easier searching.)
Check the number of episodes – Newer shows (under 50 episodes) are usually easier to get booked on, while bigger, established podcasts (100+ episodes) may require a stronger pitch.

🎯 Pro Tip: If you're looking for quick wins, prioritize podcasts that regularly feature guests and are still growing their audience.

Step 2: Research the Podcast Before Pitching
Before reaching out, take a few minutes to understand the show so you can personalize your pitch.

Listen to an episode – Use our built-in RSS player to hear their latest content.
Look at past guests – Have they interviewed people similar to you?
Check the Content Themes – This will give you an idea of the topics they cover. (Full Podcast Insights, including ideal guest types and audience preferences, are available to Podcast Collab Club members.)

🎯 Pro Tip: Hosts appreciate guests who take the time to get familiar with their show before pitching!

Step 3: Send a Great Podcast Pitch
Once you've identified a few podcasts, it's time to craft a pitch that stands out.

The “3-Point Pitch” Formula:

1️⃣ Personal Connection – Mention something specific about their podcast (“I loved your recent episode on [topic] and how you covered [key point]”).
2️⃣ Why You're a Perfect Fit – Clearly explain what you bring to their audience. (“I specialize in [expertise], and I think your listeners would love insights on [key topic]”).
3️⃣ Clear Call to Action – Make it easy for them to say yes. (“Would you be open to a quick chat to see if I'm a good fit for your show?”).

📩 Example Outreach Email:

Subject: Loved Your Episode on [Topic]—Potential Guest Idea
Hi [Host's Name],
I just listened to your episode on [specific topic], and I really appreciated your take on [something personal and specific about the episode].
I'd love to be a guest on your podcast to bring even more insights to your audience! My expertise is in [your field], and I can share [2-3 key points you can discuss]—I think it would really resonate with your listeners.
Would you be open to a quick chat to see if this could be a great fit? Let me know what works for you!
Looking forward to connecting,
[Your Name]

🎯 Pro Tip: Keep your email short, specific, and easy to respond to.

Step 4: Follow Up & Stay Organized

If you don't hear back right away, don't assume they're not interested—hosts get a lot of emails!

Track your outreach – Keep a simple spreadsheet of which podcasts you've contacted and their responses.
Follow up strategically – Wait about a week before sending a short, polite follow-up.
If a host says "not right now," stay connected – Ask if you can check back in a few months.

🎯 Pro Tip: The key to booking more interviews is consistent outreach. If you reach out to 10 podcasts, expect a handful of responses—so keep going!

We're excited to see how this feature transforms the way you connect with podcasters—and we'd love to have you inside the Club to take full advantage of it!

Warmly,

The Podcast Collaborative Team
