Jared Oates

About Me:
I'm the founder of the Leadership Progress Cycle, a foundational experience that helps new and seasoned leaders build cohesive, innovative, and accountable teams—without losing their minds or their humanity. I also co-founded Niche Academy, an online learning platform serving 72,000+ engaged learners annually.
Over the past decade, I’ve led Niche Academy’s marketing efforts, including launching the library world’s most widely attended webinar series (46,000+ registrants in 2024 alone). Before going entrepreneurial, I taught myself to code and developed software for Symantec, Xactware, and SirsiDynix. I also hold a master’s in English Rhetoric from BYU, which has proven surprisingly helpful in both writing and parenting.
I grew up in Colombia, Germany, and Japan—son of a U.S. diplomat—which explains my love of language, culture, and frequent flyer points. I live in Lindon, Utah, with my wife and our five children. Faith, family, and community are at the heart of everything I do.
I believe the best leadership is paradox-aware, people-first, and fueled by purpose and good humor. Also, carrot cake. With extra frosting.
