After more than 35 years of dedicated service as a nurse, I founded Gentle Shepherd Care in 2019 with a vision to redefine elder care. My journey began with a simple mission: to help older adults age gracefully in place, inspired by the fast-growing needs of the Baby Boomer generation. However, I quickly recognized a gap in the standard of care. Traditional elder care often focuses on managing daily activities (ADLs and IADLs) and relies heavily on medication for those with chronic illnesses like Parkinson’s, MS, dementia, and Alzheimer’s. But this approach, I realized, often just observes decline rather than enhancing quality of life.
