Dr. T. Uma Joseph is the first layperson Principal of St. Francis College for Women, Hyderabad. She also serves as Professor and Head of the Department of History. Over the years, she has held several key roles, including Dean of Academics, Controller of Examinations, and Coordinator of IQAC.She earned her M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. from the Central University of Hyderabad and completed her Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Loyola College, Chennai. A prolific academic, she has authored five books and published more than 30 research articles in reputed journals and edited volumes. In 2016, she received the State Meritorious Best Teacher Award from the Telangana Government.Her expertise has taken her across India and abroad as a resource person and guest lecturer. She has delivered talks at Shenandoah University, Virginia (USA) on Indian Culture, Women in India, and Tourism. Her lessons are also featured on National Television and E-Pathshala.Beyond academia, Dr. Uma Joseph and her husband, Joseph Christadoss, serve as Pastors at New Life Assembly of God Church, Hyderabad. They are blessed with two daughters, Salome (settled in the U.S.) and Sarah (residing in Canada).
