Alex’s path here is anything but conventional. She started her career recruiting for energy and oil and gas companies, then spent years across gaming, consulting, and a stint at Omnicom before stepping into real estate, an industry she had zero background in, as Asset Living’s first Chief People Officer in 2023.
A former competitive swimmer and diver at the University of Texas at Austin, she now leads the employee experience for a workforce spread across the country.
Alex breaks down how she built Asset Living’s six operating principles from a starting list of seventeen, why she trusts property-level managers to carry culture further than she ever could from headquarters, and how she thinks about balancing one national culture with distinct regional ones.
