Join Label Queen host James Aguiar as he sits down with Laird Mackintosh of Thoroughbred New York. We sit down and dig deep into his fascinating background beginning in Canada and the world of Ballet, moving to NYC to land roles on Broadway in Mary Poppins, Jeckyll and Hyde, and most notably in Phantom of the Opera where he holds a VERY interesting and trivia worthy distinction.
We follow him upstate where he started one of the most insider secrets in fashion. His studio/vintage space holds one of the largest Ralph Lauren collections in the US and is accesible on an appointment only basis. This unique business models has fashion insiders and collectors visiting him from all of the world, not only, for his vast collection but for his encyclopedic knowledge and passion for the Ralph Lauren Brand. Housing both men and womens with a specialty for 1970’s through the 1990’s his care and dedication assures a timeless fit and lasting impressions. We also explore what RL could look like past it’s legendary founder taking bows on the runway and what makes Ralph so quintessentially American.
