Construction Industry Federation (CIF) Safety Campaign
🎙️ Night Works on the N11 (Part 2 of 2) with Jons Civil Engineering Company Ltd
In the week since we posted Part 1 of this podcast, a further 12 lives have been lost on Irish roads. Traffic fatalities across Ireland stood at 97 as of 16 July 2026, according to An Garda Síochána. It is unclear whether that figure includes the four fatalities reported over the past 24 hours.
The latest CIF Safety podcast goes behind the barriers of night works, exploring traffic management, temporary works and the people delivering these essential projects while the country sleeps.
In the second of this two-part podcast series, the Construction Industry Federation’s John Egan talks to Philip O’Donnell of Jons Civil Engineering Company Ltd about the extensive safety planning and preparation required before road improvement works begin, including road closure orders, traffic management planning, and engagement with local stakeholders and communities.
