Podcast Insights
Content Themes
The podcast explores a wide range of themes related to art and storytelling, including the role of art in society, the evolution of narrative forms, and the creative processes of artists. Specific episode examples include discussions about social justice in filmmaking with Mike Jackson, the importance of character exploration in Sophie Hyde's work, and the intersection of science and art in Dr. Anne Rimoin's episode.

Are you confused by the 21st century, too? Every week at the 5AM StoryTalk Podcast, host Cole Haddon is joined by some of the world’s biggest artists and intellectuals to try to make sense of where we’ve been, where we’ve ended up, and where we’re going – all through the lens of art.
Haddon has been a professional screenwriter, novelist, and comic book writer for 20 years. He created the NBC/Sky TV series ‘Dracula’ (2014) and wrote the novel ‘Psalms for the End of the World’ (2022), amongst other less-cool accomplishments. This podcast is recorded on Dja Dja Wurrung country in Australia.
5AM RealTalk is a 5AM StoryTalk plog where I discuss the highs and lows of my life as an artist and human being – what I'm struggling with in my work, what's inspiring me, what's causing me to lose sleep.
In today's episode, we get to know each other a little better, I muse about the artist's ”waiting game” and the anxiety that brings, I talk about some personal stuff that's leading to something like writer's block (or rather, sluggishness), and I celebrate the release of my sister Kam Redlawsk's children's book Yumi and the Monster.
