“Nadine sure likes to talk” – every report card she brought home.
Which is ironic because this whole show is really about listening and asking the questions other interviewers skip. It doesn’t take an expert or a guest who’s survived something tragic to make that work – it simply requires someone willing to be real. Because everyone has a real story if you’re willing to ask for it.
An Olympic athlete figuring out who she is after competitive sports. A mother describing the 118 days she got with a daughter who was born four months too early and didn’t survive. A business owner rebuilding after everything fell apart and Nadine’s own mom and sister on what makes a family actually enjoy each other’s company.
No script. No formula. No niche. Just real conversations that go past the rehearsed answer – because she’s honest first, so her guests can be too.
New episodes every week.

One of the most downloaded episodes in the history of this show – and it's the very first one I ever recorded <3
My friend Mandie lost her mom to cancer, and then her stepdad, 11 months later. Two parents, back to back, in under a year. We get into what actually gets you out of bed the day someone dies, running the Chicago Marathon four hours after finding out her mom had two months left, and the dead-parent jokes that only make sense once you're on the other side of it.
It's heavy. It's also really funny, in the way grief actually is when nobody's performing for the room. This is why I started this show.
If you fall in love with Mandie like I did, be sure to check out her business, Collective Movement.
And if you want to ensure you never miss an episode release, I deliver them to your inbox every week through my newsletter – The Other Side | In Print.
Whether you're new here or have been listening all year, thank you.
