Welcome to Peaceful Planet’s first podcast episode. First recorded in April 2025, professor of peace and nonviolent protests advocate David Cortright of Cornell University and Notre Dame joins Peaceful Planet (PP) founder Lani Lin-Kissick for a discussion on how students can unite and be the face of systemic change for a more peaceful, equitable, and sustainable society during the modern horror story that is present day.
PP 🍄 is a growing movement and community for all young people looking for a change. We hope to encourage each other to BE that change by building up collaborative youth efforts and spreading understanding of the connection between social and environmental struggles.
Future episodes will be highlighting student leaders, organizers, and communities based at Lani’s home base, Cornell University (no university-sponsored affiliation). Nevertheless, for this first episode, please enjoy Lani’s discussion with “Win Without War” co-founder and nuclear disarmament expert Dr. Cortright, brought to you by Peaceful Planet in collaboration with Cornell’s Peace Action chapter.
Not all opinions of Dr. Cortright reflect PP’s values (e.g. we believe it’s OK to be angry — your anger is a reflection of your attachment to justice <3). We believe that we don’t need to segregate ourselves based on the things we don’t agree on as long as we continue to voice our truth. We would rather inspire greater mutual understanding as well as decisive action for the efforts we can agree on to push for definite class action.
Without further ado, please Enjoy Our First Episode!! ☀️🐸☀️
