In this first episode in the new Making Seinfeld series, John O’Hurley joins Mark Joseph for an exciting conversation about the extraordinary career that took him from Broadway and daytime television to one of the most memorable recurring roles on Seinfeld. O’Hurley tells the remarkable story of how he nearly turned down J. Peterman, how his manager refused to take no for an answer, and how he created Peterman’s unforgettable voice and larger-than-life personality. He also shares behind-the-scenes stories from the Seinfeld set, including material that never made it to the original broadcast.

O’Hurley also looks back on Dancing with the Stars, Family Feud, his years on Broadway, his music and books, the National Dog Show, and the unusual philosophy that has guided his career. He talks about overcoming stage fright, listening to his imagination, buying into the real J. Peterman Company, and his one-man show A Man with Standards, including the night he sang Sinatra to Frank Sinatra himself.
