Where to from now on?

Where to from now on?
Podcast Description
"Where to From Now On" is an experimental, multilingual, and interdisciplinary podcast exploring Planetary Health. Through conversations with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, I seek to uncover different ways of understanding and relating to our world. Each interview is conducted and published in the guest’s chosen language —honoring their cultural context and amplifying their voice within their own community.
I am your host Felipe Almeida, a Brazilian PhD researcher living in Quebec’s Franco-Canadian landscape for more than a decade now. Thus, I will be experimenting with English, Portuguese, and French—adapting as the journey unfolds.

In this first interview in English, I have the great pleasure to talk to Tany Holzworth, an educador, care attendant and community organizer who is also doing amazing work on inclusive design and disability rights. Tany is also an outdoor enthusiast and citizen scientist who experiences disability through chronic pain, neurodivergence and, most-importantly, through community. In this episode we talk about how Tany was introduced to disability justice and pride through her work as care provider for disability activists, her role in stablishing the inclusive volunteer program at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle and most importantly, how the knowledge from disability communities and culture might be an important frame for a better life in a moment where both our society and planet are already in a stage of temporary disability that if not cared for can become permanent.
