Where to from now on?
Where to from now on?
Podcast Description
"Where to From Now On" is an experimental, multilingual, and interdisciplinary podcast exploring Planetary Health. Through conversations with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, I seek to uncover different ways of understanding and relating to our world. Each interview is conducted and published in the guest’s chosen language —honoring their cultural context and amplifying their voice within their own community.
I am your host Felipe Almeida, a Brazilian PhD researcher living in Quebec’s Franco-Canadian landscape for more than a decade now. Thus, I will be experimenting with English, Portuguese, and French—adapting as the journey unfolds.

It took me much longer than I predicted to publish this episode and yet I am very glad that it is finally available. Dr. Brooke Bosley is a good friend and a fantastic thinker. Dr. Bosley is an afrofuturist feminist researcher, educator and digital media artist. She obtained her doctorate in Digital Media from the Georgia Institute of Technology, specializing in Black Media and focusing on Afrofuturism and Black Feminism as design practices. In almost a decade as a digital media artist, she has developed projects centered on Black, Queer, and Disabled communities. Outside of her daily job, Brooke keeps her mind and body active in various different ways, be it through elite powerlifting, volunteering, and community organizing in her Seattle neighborhood by, for example, hosting a monthly Black Futures book club at Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center.
It was since the beginning of this podcast earlier in 2025 that I wanted to record this conversation with her. But due to unforeseen technological issues, we had to meet on three different occasions to finally get it done. The two first attempts were unfortunately completely lost and not saved by the platform I use. In our first conversation, we discussed a lot more about theoretical aspects of black feminism and afrofuturism while on our second attempt we went on a deep conversation about the ontological and theological aspects of black feminism and afrofuturism. In this final recording, we ended up with a mix of the first two conversations and an additional attempt to shine a light on the political context of nowadays and that in which these topics are entangled.
