In Episode 19 of Beyond the Mats, I sit down with Brett Moyer of the Colorado Wolverines to talk about his journey through Jiu-Jitsu and what it’s like competing in the fast paced format of the Professional Grappling Federation (PGF).
Brett breaks down the unique PGF team format, what Week 1 of the season was like, and how the Colorado Wolverines, one of the newest teams in the league, drafted him and brought him into the squad. We also dive into his life before jiu-jitsu, the path that led him to the mats, and the mindset it takes to compete at a high level.
He also shares valuable advice for younger white belts just starting their BJJ journey and talks about the culture, pressure, and camaraderie of representing the Wolverines in a growing professional grappling league.
If you’re a fan of jiu-jitsu, team competition, or the grind behind the scenes of professional grappling, this is an episode you won’t want to miss.
