We often see the finished version of someone’s dream life, the beautiful business, the freedom, the exciting career, but rarely the messy journey behind it.
We glamorize people who are building their dream lives, without seeing the risks, difficult decisions, uncomfortable situations, doubts, and sacrifices that got them there. And I think those are often the most beautiful parts of the story, because that’s where the real growth happens.
In this episode, I sit down with the Founder of Sockergirs, Selma Larsson, to talk about the journey behind the life she has built today.
We dive into what it was like growing up as a Swedish girl in Asia, navigating a culture very different from her own, and her experience with depression as a teenager. Selma opens up so honestly about that chapter of her life, sharing lessons that I hope can bring comfort and perspective to anyone going through something similar.
We also talk about her time in the corporate world, how she realized the 9–5 life wasn’t for her, and the leap she took to build a life that actually felt like hers.
Today, she runs Sockergris, her candy store in Amsterdam, and in this conversation, we get to hear the real story behind the dream.
