good_work is a show where we talk to independent designers, programmers, artists, and inventors doing good work in pursuit of their creative vision.
In the debut episode of good_work, I talk to Keegan McNamara of Mythic Computer. Keegan is a programmer, designer, and craftsman who believes our technology can be beautiful, even ornate. Inspired by 19th-century firearm design and more, he built the first Mythic Computer by hand. The work resonated: first a commission, then another. Now Keegan supports himself full time, building custom handmade machines from his studio in Ojai, California.
