Todd Ellis and Tommy Suggs are household names for South Carolina fans, but their impact stretches well beyond the airwaves. In this episode, Sara Fawcett talks with the longtime broadcast duo about the connections between sports, service, and community. They share what football taught them about leadership, how stories inspire change, and why supporting others is the real victory.
About the Episode 3 Guests:
Todd Ellis is a 1989 graduate of USC with a BS in History and was a four-year letterman in football. He threw for 9,956 yards in his career and was South Carolina’s all-time winningest quarterback until 2013, when Connor Shaw broke his record. Todd received his juris doctor in May 1995 and has his own law practice, the Law Office of Todd Ellis, P.A., where he provides services for clients needing litigation counsel, including business litigation and personal injury matters. Todd was named the Voice of Gamecock football in 2003 by ISP/Learfield and USC, serving as the play-by-play announcer.
Tommy Suggs is chairman of the Carolinas region of HUB International, the 5th largest global insurance brokerage firm. Tommy graduated of the USC Darla Moore School of Business and was a three-year starting quarterback for the Gamecocks. He quarterbacked the 1969 ACC Championship team and was named most valuable player in 1970, his senior year. Tommy later attended graduate programs in banking and business at Louisiana State University, the University of Oklahoma and the University of Pennsylvania. He has been the color analyst on the Gamecocks football network for more than 50 years.
