My guest today is Professor Alfried Längle, a leading voice in existential analysis and a close collaborator of Viktor Frankl (who, if you somehow don’t know, was the author of Mans Search for Meaning which The Library of Congress listed as”One of the ten most influential books in America).“In his work with Frankl during the 1980s, he helped extend logotherapy into what is now known as the Viennese School of Existential Analysis. He served for decades as president of the International Society for Logotherapy and Existential Analysis and has taught and lectured worldwide.Trained as both a physician and psychologist, and grounded in decades of clinical work in psychiatry and psychotherapy, he has been instrumental in evolving logotherapy into a rich, phenomenological approach that centers not only on meaning, but on lived experience, freedom, and the person’s inner consent to life.
