In this week’s episode, our host, Russ Shulkes, was joined by Julie Boccabella. Julie shares her deeply personal journey that began during one of the most difficult chapters in recent human history. In April of 2020, COVID-19 was sweeping across the country. Frank, Julie’s husband, and an essential worker, contracted the virus as an employee at Newark Liberty International Airport.
Frank became the first TSA agent in the nation to pass from COVID-19 and his death was covered by news outlets across the country as Americans were just beginning to grasp the devastating impact of the pandemic.
In the months that followed, Julie found herself navigating loss in ways few people had ever experienced before. Yet her story is not only about grief, but about finding purpose, connection and even joy in unexpected places.
