Leslie Nease is back!!!!
This time our conversation is all about honoring where we’ve been while permitting ourselves to recognize when a chapter has reached its natural end. Leslie is an author, podcaster, former Christian radio host, and former contestant on Survivor: China. Her journey through faith deconstruction inspired her book Honoring the Journey: The Deconstruction of Sister Christian and her podcast Honoring the Journey, which began in 2024 as a space for honest conversations about faith, deconstruction, spirituality, religious trauma, and the many paths our lives can take.
Recently, Leslie made the difficult decision to begin bringing Honoring the Journey to a close. In this episode, we talk about what it means to create something that becomes deeply meaningful to you and to other people, while also recognizing that honoring a journey doesn’t always mean holding onto it forever. Sometimes honoring it means knowing when it’s time to let it end. We talk about endings, new beginnings, identity, creativity, faith, and that uncomfortable but exciting little space between who we were and whoever we’re becoming next.
But Leslie isn’t disappearing from podcasting. She’s also co-host of Beyond the Torch alongside fellow Survivor: China castaway Todd Herzog. The show explores what happened to former Survivor contestants after the cameras stopped rolling, how the experience changed them, and the strange, funny, painful and unexpected ways the game continued shaping their lives.
