🎒📚 BACK TO SCHOOL: WHAT’S NEW AT ACUSD?
The 2026-2027 school year is officially underway, and on the newest episode of Getting to Know Amador County, we’re sitting down with ACUSD Superintendent Jared Critchfield to talk about what’s happening in our schools, what’s changing, and what our community should know.
But first, we start with Jared Critchfield the person, not just the Superintendent. We talk a little about the man behind the position and get to know the person helping lead our school district.
Then we get into the new school year, including:
📘 The adoption of a new math curriculum
🏫 A new principal, plus a couple of familiar faces who have officially stepped into their leadership roles
🔨 Campus improvements happening throughout the district
🏫 An update on the status of school consolidation
🗳️ The upcoming school board election
👏 Some very well-deserved recognition for a couple of longtime ACUSD employees
One thing that really stood out in our conversation was the lack of major staffing changes this year, and we see that as a positive way to begin the school year. We don’t want to be a district constantly dealing with turnover. We want to retain the great teachers, administrators and staff who know our kids, know our community and are committed to our schools.
We are always grateful for Superintendent Critchfield’s willingness to sit down with us, answer questions and openly share what is happening within ACUSD. These conversations are exactly why we created Getting to Know Amador County.
