Hello, my name is Matthew Sortino and welcome to Their Stories Unbroken.
Today, I am speaking to Nathan Faiman. Nathan is the grandson of Rachel Goldberg and son of Caitlin Faiman. This episode is the 3rd of 3 episodes looking at the lives and legacies of Rachel and her descendants as we celebrate and remember the lives of Eva and Nathan Rynderman.
It was wonderful to have the opportunity to speak to Nathan and hear his insights and perspectives into his family history. It was also great to have Nathan articulate the ways in which he has been impacted by the legacy of the Holocaust, how it has inspired and shaped him and how he lives out his Judaism. There is so much on offer by interviewing multiple guests from the same family. You really do get a sense of the multi-generational differences that help to paint a rich and vibrant picture into a story.
Nathan Faiman is a lawyer at Arnold Bloch Leibler. He graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts double-degree. He has a keen interest in researching and understanding his family history and took a gap year in 2018 to live in Israel and travel to Poland which was a life changing experience for him. Nathan lived in London in 2022 to study Art History at Sotheby’s Institute of Art. Nathan is also on the Board of The Jewish Museum of Australia. Nathan works hard to be an active and positive contributor to the community and I thank him for taking the time out of his busy schedule to join me.
