Toufic Alayyash had already built a career that took him from Lebanon to Dubai when he decided it was time for a change. With plans to travel and figure out what was next, he took a trip to Chicago in March 2020. Days later, the COVID-19 lockdown hit. Suddenly, Toufic found himself starting over in a city where he had few connections and no clear path forward.
Today, he’s the founder and creative director of AYYA Design Haus, the Chicago-based interior architecture and design firm he built from the ground up.
