Classics and Poetry Now is a series of occasional podcasts that have developed out of a research network of the same name. The network is made up of scholars and creative artists with a shared interest in the ancient Mediterranean and its persistent and varying resonances in the modern world. Together, we explore the ways in which the myths, literature, and cultures of ancient Greece and Rome are refigured in poetic works of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

In this episode of the Classics and Poetry Now podcast, Tatiana Faia discusses her poetry with Justine McConnell, reflecting on the ways in which her work interweaves the contemporary world with ancient Greece and Rome.
Tatiana Faia has published six collections of poetry, including Lugano (2009), Teatro de Rua (2013), Leopardo e Abstracção (2020), and Adriano (2022). Her 2018 collection, Um quarto em Atenas (2018) [A Room in Athens], was awarded the Portuguese PEN Prize for Poetry, while Adriano [Hadrian] has been translated into both Greek and Italian.
