In this episode of Path to Purpose, David Lindell and Brandon Lindell sit down with author and speaker Havilah Cunnington for a conversation about hearing God’s voice, growing in the prophetic, and becoming who God has actually called you to be. Havilah shares how her father taught her from a young age to listen for God’s voice, how he helped make the prophetic a normal part of everyday life, and why hearing God is something believers can grow in through practice, community, and obedience. Learning to recognize His voice can bring greater clarity to your purpose and help you walk confidently in what He is saying.
Havilah also shares practical ways to grow in hearing God—from paying attention to what He may be highlighting during worship to writing down what you sense and sharing simple words of encouragement with others. They talk about lowering the stakes, being willing to get it wrong, staying humble and teachable, and trusting God with the results of your obedience. The conversation also explores why prophetic gifts should never become a performance or a source of identity, and why walking in purpose requires remaining under authority while allowing the Holy Spirit to work through the unique person God created you to be.
One of the most personal parts of the conversation centers on Havilah’s journey of “breaking up” with the person she thought she was supposed to become.
