Every cellular IoT device relies on a Subscriber Identity Module, or SIM.
But SIMs do more than identify devices on a network.
Some can send AT, or attention, commands directly to the modem, controlling how it operates and creating a potential attack path.
A “hostile SIM” could exploit vulnerabilities to:
