There are countless voices competing to shape the way we think—culture, media, fear, popular opinion, and even deeply ingrained religious ideas. In this final session of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of God, Deb and Lori invite us to consider the “algorithms” we may be following without even realizing it—and to bring them back under the light of the truth found in Jesus Christ.
Throughout Scripture, we are called to be sober and alert, to test what we believe, and to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. But this isn’t another call to try harder, do better, or somehow make ourselves more spiritual. The Christian life begins and continues with what Christ has already accomplished for us.
Jesus is the truth. He is our life. And because of His finished work on the cross, we are not fighting for freedom—we are learning to walk in the freedom He has already given us.
Deb and Lori challenge the idea that believers should define themselves by their struggles. A hiker may stumble on the trail, but stumbling doesn’t change who they are or where they are headed. In the same way, our failures do not have the final word over our identity. In Christ, we are overcomers—learning to walk by faith, receive grace, encourage one another, and keep our eyes fixed on Him.
This final conversation is a call to humility, prayer, discipleship, unity, and discernment. It is also a reminder that history belongs to God. Nothing unfolding around us is outside His sovereign plan. His Word is true, His promises are sure, and His purposes will be accomplished.
So we can live awake but not afraid. Watchful but not consumed. Humble, hopeful, and holy—not because we have mastered the Christian life, but because our confidence rests in the One who has already overcome.
This is life. This is liberty. And this is the pursuit of God.
