For 22 years, the Wabash Cannonball Chili for Charity Cookoff has been serving up more than just great chili—it’s been fueling community impact. As the largest chili cookoff east of the Mississippi River, this beloved Wabash County tradition blends friendly competition, flavorful recipes, and a whole lot of heart.
In this episode, Christine sits down with event cofounder Bob McCallen and long-standing, past committee member Todd Titus to talk about the origins of the cookoff, how it’s grown into a powerhouse fundraiser, and the ways it shines a spotlight on local charities. From the excitement of tasting dozens and dozens of chili creations to the joy of seeing nonprofits supported in a big way, this event is a true celebration of food and community. It's a great mix of a trip down memory lane and the dedication that this committee still has today!
