James Briggs has served as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church in Fayette for the past 14 years, becoming the second longest-tenured pastor in the church's history. Originally from St. Louis, James moved to Fayette in August 2012 after graduating from seminary and has faithfully invested in both the church and the surrounding community ever since. James and his wife, Shannon, have been married for 20 years and are the proud parents of four children: Athan, David, Taran, and Avreigh. When he's not serving the church, you'll most likely find him spending time with his family. At the heart of James's ministry is a passion for simple, authentic Christianity lived out through the local church. In this conversation, he shares his journey, his heart for pastoral ministry, and why he believes the local church remains central to following Jesus.
