Jake Perkins is the senior minister of Grace Crossing Church in Conroe, Texas. He previously served for a decade as lead pastor of the Canadian Church of Christ in the Texas Panhandle—my hometown congregation. Jake went to undergrad at Oklahoma State University and attended seminary at Oklahoma Christian University.
In this conversation, we discuss Jake’s journey into ministry, the joys and costs of pastoral life, and the challenges of COVID-19. We also talk about marriage, the tension between ambition and humility in ministry, and how the way of Jesus stands apart from the patterns of modern, American life.
Recorded September 12, 2025 in downtown Houston, Texas.
I hope you enjoy the conversation. Dialogue is redemptive.
