In this inspiring episode of One Take, we sit down with filmmaker and visual artist Sudipta Chanda, whose journey from engineering to cinema is nothing short of cinematic itself. Starting his career in the corporate world, Sudipta nurtured a quiet passion for photography—capturing everyday moments and sharing them on social media. What began as a hobby soon transformed into a calling, as his visual storytelling caught the attention of industry insiders.
His big break came with a project for Tollywood star Subhasree Ganguly, followed by a life-changing opportunity to work with Prosenjit Chattopadhyay, who appointed him as his personal photographer. From there, doors opened to collaborations with Surinder Films, Tata Sky, Ananda Bazar Patrika Entertainment, and eventually Bollywood icons like Hema Malini, Rani Mukherjee, and Varun Dhawan.
Now stepping into direction and scriptwriting, Sudipta is currently working on content for OTT platforms. In From Clicks to Cuts, he opens up about the courage it takes to change your path, the transition from still frames to storytelling, and the visual discipline that helped him shape a career on his own terms.
