In Episode 13, we sit down with Daniel Lewis, MD, a family medicine physician, entrepreneur, and co-owner of Beaufort MD and White Wave Medical Aesthetics in Comox, British Columbia, on Vancouver Island.
Dr. Lewis shares his journey from growing up in Northern California to attending St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine (SMUSOM), where he met his wife, Dr. Genevieve Allen, MD (featured in Episode 12). Along the way, he reflects on the pivotal moments that helped him become the physician, entrepreneur and leader he is today.
A major focus of our conversation with Dr. Lewis is Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy, an innovative, non-invasive treatment that is creating new possibilities in mental health care. Dr. Lewis explains how TMS works, who it may help, and why he believes it offers an addition to the mental health treatment landscape. He also shares his perspective on the future of mental health care and the importance of providing patients with more treatment options.
This episode is an insightful conversation about medicine, entrepreneurship, mental health and the path that led Dr. Lewis to where he is today.
