Podcast Description
Hi, I’m Kelly Oliver Dougall. I’m a counsellor, podcast host, and an advocate for women’s sex-based rights and free speech. I work with women who’ve been cancelled, bullied, or harassed - often in their workplaces or communities - helping them rebuild confidence so they can move forward again. Alongside my counselling work, I also run a home care business, so I understand the realities of juggling care, responsibility, and trying to stay true to your values. On my podcast, I speak with women navigating similar challenges.
Podcast Insights
Content Themes
The podcast focuses on a variety of themes, including women's empowerment, personal development, navigating societal challenges, and gender identity discussions. Notable episode topics include overcoming harassment, exploring identity politics, the complexities of motherhood, and personal healing journeys. Episodes often delve into real-life experiences that highlight the struggles and triumphs of women.

My podcast creates a safe, open space for women whose voices are often silenced, dismissed, or ignored. I speak with guests who bring lived experience, honesty, and courage to conversations that matter.
I’m especially interested in speaking with women who:
- Have been bullied, cancelled, or harassed online or in their communities, and want to share their story of resilience.
- Are “trans widows” – women whose male partners transitioned and who experienced loss, coercion, or abuse in that process.
- Have trans-identifying family members, and are navigating the grief, isolation, or pressure to self-censor that often comes with it.
- Want to shed light on the impact of coercive control, narcissistic abuse, and the broader culture of silencing women’s realities.
This podcast aims to amplify stories that are too often kept in the shadows — giving voice to truth-tellers, survivors, and women who have faced backlash for speaking openly.
If your experience touches on these themes and you’re ready for a thoughtful, respectful, and empowering conversation, I’d love to hear from you.
In this conversation, Kelly Oliver Dougall interviews Emily Brearley, a development economist with extensive experience in the global South. They discuss Emily's new book, which critiques the failures of international aid and the World Bank, while also addressing the impact of gender ideology on development work. Emily emphasizes the need for humility and realistic approaches in aid, advocating for empowerment and local expertise over paternalistic interventions. The conversation also touches on class issues, the importance of education, and the challenges of speaking out against prevailing ideologies.
