🎙️ Welcome to Keeping Up With the Raccoons—the official podcast of Oconomowoc High School! I’m your host, Jason Curtis (aka the one Raccoon you can’t quite catch).

In this episode, I sit down with five OHS juniors and seniors who are spending their summer working behind the scenes as custodians and IT interns across the Oconomowoc Area School District. While students and staff enjoy a well-deserved break, these Raccoons are helping prepare our schools for another successful year.

Our student interns share what they’ve learned through hands-on experience, from tackling challenging projects and working as a team to communicating professionally, taking initiative, following direction, and completing tasks with little supervision. Although these jobs may not directly align with their future career plans, they discuss how the skills they’ve gained will benefit them wherever life takes them after high school.

They also reflect on the often-unseen work of our custodial and technology teams, expressing a newfound appreciation for everything these dedicated staff members do to keep our schools clean, safe, and running smoothly. It’s a conversation about hard work, teamwork, growth, and the valuable lessons that come from showing up each day and getting the job done—while still finding time to have a little fun along the way. 🦝💜💛
