ROAR Healing Stories
Podcast Description
Hi! I’m Ellen Line, LCSW-C. I’m a trauma therapist. I help folks heal trauma in their relationships with self, others, and the collective. Through this work, I’ve learned healing can happen in so many different ways, and so with ROAR Healing Stories, I’m taking you inside my own and others’ healing journeys. In Season One, you’ll hear from me and from some of my dear friends who are on healing journeys or who work as healers. I hope that hearing these stories helps you see how wide and winding a healing journey can be and feel a little less alone as you walk your path. You’ll get to learn lessons from folks who are also growing and healing. Join us for the first season of ROAR Healing Stories wherever you listen to podcasts! roarfindyourfierce.substack.com

Alec Pulianas is a real one. He shared vulnerably about his ongoing healing journey. We talked about:
-how losing his dad created ripple effects through his life: from dealing with the stages of his dad’s illness, to his final memories going to Rush concerts together, the shifts in his relationship with his mom, and the importance for him of maintaining a sense of self in his marriage knowing the worst that could happen
-the weakening family ties that changed his social network in favor of chosen family
-healing perfectionism through working on his podcast and learning what’s “good enough”
-how his relationship with his wife forced him to confront his unrealistic expectations
-healing through associating feelings and soothing himself with music
