In this episode of Inside Eugene, student guest host Jamie Scott heads out into the field to talk with Oliver Redig, a Recreation staff member who helps run Fun For All — Eugene’s free summer program offering youth and teens a safe, positive space to hang out, play and connect. Running on summer weekdays in neighborhood parks, the program provides structured activities, supportive mentors and free lunches in partnership with Food for Lane County. Oliver shares how the program eases the burden on working parents, supports parents who may not have access to childcare and helps activate park spaces in ways that promote public safety. We also explore related LRCS programs, from teen apprenticeships to outdoor skills cohorts and community service camps. It’s a look at the vibrant, youth-centered work happening across Eugene Rec all summer long.
