In this candid panel discussion, our speakers unpack what it really takes to lead, innovate and advocate as women across healthcare, community services, mining and the boardroom, from breaking new ground in regional medicine to confronting unconscious bias on the front line.

1. Dr Emilia Dauway MD — Breast cancer surgeon and surgical oncologist who emigrated from the US to central Queensland and became the first in Australia to adopt the non-radioactive MagSeed procedure, replacing decades-old hook-wire localisation.

2. Jean McRuvie — Experienced board director in healthcare and community services, clinical governance expert and tireless champion for rural and regional Australia.

3. Yasmin Khan— First-generation migrant, lifelong community advocate and founder of a domestic abuse service she has run, unfunded, for 15 years.

4. Ashley McCarthy-Griffiths — Engineer and business-improvement leader in mining, and the first female supervisor in a workshop of 600+ men.
