Show Notes:
2. Spiritual bypassing:
”[is] the avoidance of underlying emotional issues by focusing solely on spiritual beliefs, practices, and experiences.”
3. Hermetica are texts credited to the ancient greek figure Hermes Trismegistus, who combined elements of the greek god Hermes and the Egyptian god Thoth.
There are two sub categories:
A. Technical Hermetica includes astrology, medicine and
pharmacology, alchemy, and magic,
B. Conversely, ”religio-philosophical” Hermetica tackles the
relationship between people, the cosmos, and God
combining philosophical anthropology, cosmology, and theology.
Extra info for etymology nerds like me, hermetically sealed comes from this, but it was to keep their knowledge safe from outsiders!
