With ongoing fighting in the DRC, human rights violations that UN experts recently said could amount to war crimes, and access to minerals remaining a potential reason for Ugandan intervention in the country, we revisit this interview with Dr.Chairman Okoloise from January.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo filed a criminal lawsuit against Apple in December 2024 in France and Belgium, accusing it of buying minerals from armed rebel groups in the region. Belgium opened an investigation into apple shortly after, and France threw the lawsuit out in February.
The People's Program was joined by former Legal Expert at the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights, Chariman Okoloise.
