In My Veins

In My Veins
Podcast Description
I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma whilst in my 20s. My fight with cancer went on for over a decade with multiple failed treatments, transplants and clinical trials, being repeatedly told that I would not survive.
But now, in remission with a different blood type and DNA, I have been giving talks across the globe about facing fear head-on and setting new statistics.
Music played a huge part in my journey and why I wanted to launch ‘In My Veins’ to talk about the power of music and capture guests’ thoughts and feelings and how they overcame the biggest hurdles in their lives.

To round up the first season of this podcast, I spoke with music psychologist Dr Michelle Phillips all about how vital music is in our lives and how much we are still to learn about the power of music. I found this conversation fascinating, and can only hope that funding continues to grow in the areas where we know music helps. Turn It Up, The Power of Music Exhibition runs at the Science Museum in London from 19 October 2023 – 6 May 2024: https://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/see-and-do/turn-it-up
