Today we’re taking a Road Dogs Detour back to the 1980’sto check out the legendary Eddie Murphy in some of his earliest work as acomedian. Sam and Jim take a deep dive on Delirious, Murphy’s classic firsthour-long stand-up comedy special with the iconic red leather jumpsuit, all theimpressions, F-words, and bits that you definitely could not get away withtoday.
They bounce from the live stage to the sound stage and check out Trading Places, one of Eddie Murphy’s first feature comedy films co-starring a young Dan Aykroyd, where we laugh along as two psychotic rich old men destroy the life of a promising colleague over a $1 bet, Eddie Murphy thinks everyone is gay and out to get him, and the 80’s generally vomit all over the audience for 90-minutes.
