On this episode of The Real Lyfe Podcast, the Fyfe Brothers welcome Alexis Frueh.
Alexis was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 10. Thereafter, what began as angsty journal writing turned into something much heavier. Alexis endured severe depression in her adult life. One night she was ready to make the permanent decision to end her life. Alexis had to incapacitate herself through alcohol and sleeping pills so she couldn't make the fatal decision.
This episode will dive into Alexis's perspective on depression, and her new perspective on life after speaking out about her feelings and seeking help. This episode will discuss the modalities and resources Alexis turned to that allows her to continue to win her battle against depression everyday.
Alexis's courage and strength to be humble, open, and transparent is admirable. Alexis wants everybody in a battle with depression to know that you are NOT alone. She hopes her story can help just one person to also overcome the darkness that is depression.
