Hi!
Welcome to Episode #4 of the Great Little Podcast!
I’m super excited about my guest this month and was so delighted when she agreed to speak to me for my (still very new) little Podcast!
I had her listed as one of my “dream guests” for the show and really didn’t expect this to happen so early on in the FIRST series!
Anyway, I’ll stop “fan-girling” and get on with it. Without further (embarrassing) rambling… Introducing, the kind, supportive and simply fabulousTanya Lynch!

Intro:
My guest this month is someone who I still can’t actually believe said yes to coming onto my new little podcast and she was actually on my list of “dream guests” – a list I thought I might get to one day.. a long time in the future!
But, I got brave… asked the question and she said YES! Which just shows, if we can allow ourselves to be vulnerable at times and open ourselves up to rejection, it can actually work in our favour.
Tanya Lynch writes“weekly musings, short essays and therapeutic journalling prompts” on her Substack Publication “With Ease”, where she publishes a Sunday Newsletter – with Book & article recommendations, journaling prompts & news on her retreats.
Ease Retreats is Tanya’s business, where she runswriting & wellbeing retreats, which she co-hosts with best-selling authors and expert creatives. Something she says she still pinches herself about… getting to collaborate with the likes ofEmma Gannon,Clover Stroudand Laura Pashby… just to name a few.
Tanya says she is, “passionate about supporting and helping as many people as possible, to keep a consistent journalling practice and encourage aspiring writers in her community to write their book, even if it doesn’t get published!”
Tanya loves everything to do with journalling, visiting bookshops, attending writer events, discovering new authors and being by the coast. You can usually find herat the beach near her home in Wales, with her two Ridgebacks and her bare feet firmly in the sand.
I really enjoyed my chat with Tanya and any residing nerves soon dispersed as we relaxed into our conversation with Ease. Thank you Tanya ❤️
Our Chat:
Our conversation went in many delightful directions – as is often the case with two potential ADHDers – but we held our shit together and (almost) managed to sit still for the entire hour!
Amongst our many tangents, we discussed how we can often be discouraged to dream, but also how letting go of the “norms” and “ideals” in life can be hugely beneficial and freeing.
I was blown away by Tanya’s confidence about having “no regrets” in life and the level of acceptance and peace she has is truly inspiring and refreshing! ❤️
We talked about our battles with certain insecurities, which can still result in toxic habits, such as; people pleasing, comparison, needing to be highly productive at all times and guilt while resting.
We discussed Tanya’s previous career in Radio and her experience of getting ahead in a male dominated workplace. Her business “Lynch Pin”, where she provided affordable PR and encouraging women out of their shell.
The crash of 2008 hit Tanya hard, when she lost her home and her business and hit rock-bottom. However, her resilience and gumption got her through, as she took one next right step at a time, towards a new career as a magazine executive.
Tanya shares some of her favourite journalling techniques and we discuss the benefits and potential pitfalls of picking too much at old wounds.
We also talk about Tanya’s gorgeous dogs – the ridgebacks – who have endured some little wounds of their own.
