Welcome to The Wine Tipster, serving up the very best in horseracing, food and wine.
This podcast is being released the week of the Craven meeting, which is the opening meeting of Newmarket’s annual racing calendar. and I delighted that for the first episode we’re here in Newmarket itself, the home of flat racing.
Firstly, we head off to the National Stud to meet their CEO Anna Kerr. Anna is great: she’s got a brilliant reputation and is so respected in our sport but also she’s got fantastic taste in food and wine, as you’ll hear. We also met Stradivarius and the other stallions – what an experience that was, and we know you’ll love it too.
You may wonder why you next hear from Emma Godivala, co-founder of York Gin. What could be the connection between York Gin and The National Stud? You’ll find out about that.
We then brought ourselves back down to Newmarket to meet Tracey Harding, CEO of Discover Newmarket. As ever, Tracey is passionate and enthusiastic, and tells you how much there is to do in Newmarket across a whole array of experiences, including the new Horseplay exhibition at The National Horseracing Museum.
In case you’ve not heard him before, Neil Phillips is a regular contributor to the Nick Luck Daily and you may also have heard him on The Final Furlong or talkSPORT Daily’s Horses For Courses so if you like these podcasts, we know you’ll love The Wine Tipster.
Enjoy the pod.
Cheers!
