In this deeply moving episode of Conversations That Heal, we sit down with Svetlana Serigny — a multilingual mother, chemist, MBA graduate, and passionate advocate for alternative healing — as she shares the extraordinary survival story of her son Marc.
After experiencing profound personal losses, including the heartbreaking loss of twins at 29 weeks and a painful divorce, Svetlana found hope again through her “last chance” baby, Marc — born healthy after her fourth round of IVF. But her world shifted once more in 2016 when 4-year-old Marc, previously asymptomatic, suddenly collapsed on a playground from a cardiac arrest caused by undiagnosed Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome.
What followed was a journey of heartbreak, frustration with traditional healthcare, and the incredible resilience of a mother determined to help her son heal beyond what doctors thought possible. From the failures of standard rehabilitation in France to the revolutionary benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) in Israel under the guidance of Dr. Shai Efrati, Svetlana reveals how she took Marc’s recovery into her own hands — pursuing cutting-edge therapies, studying tirelessly, and connecting with global communities of hope.
Svetlana’s story is not only a testament to medical advocacy, scientific curiosity, and maternal instinct, but also a reminder that healing often begins when we refuse to accept limitations. Marc, once wheelchair-bound, now walks independently — defying every odd.
Tune in to hear how one mother’s refusal to give up turned tragedy into transformation and why Svetlana believes that every parent should trust their intuition, study the science, and never stop fighting for their child’s future.
