What if the war stopped in 1939, after Kristallnacht and the invasion of Poland, and the world still had to live with what it almost did? Author, podcaster, and history student Herman Forwood joins Havok and LX on The Space Tomatoes Podcast to walk through Twilight of Democracy: World’s Descent into Darkness, the alternate-1950 historical fantasy he started in 2022. Not baby-Hitler fan fiction. A second-chance world, Anne Frank at 21, a weakened Soviet Union that never got the Nazi scientists, Japan left as a Pacific superpower, and an America that annexes Greenland. He wrote that last bit before the headlines caught up.
