On this week’s BabyGay™ Podcast, host PJ Brescia (they/them) sits down with Eboni K. Williams (she/her) — Judge, Author, and Television Host of the nationally syndicated court show Equal Justice with Judge Eboni K. Williams.
Judge Williams reflects on her viral courtroom moment where she stood up for a young queer man whose father attempted to sue him after sending him to conversion therapy…a powerful example of what allyship and justice can look like in real time. From that case to the broader fight for LGBTQ+ rights, she shares why allyship should be the standard and how we can keep showing up, even in the face of setbacks.
We talk about the role of the courts in protecting civil rights, the responsibility we all share in standing on the right side of humanity, and why the fight for dignity, safety, and equality for LGBTQ+ people is far from over.
