In this week’s Men’s Bible Study, we explored Matthew 5:27-30, where Jesus addresses lust and purity of heart. The teaching examined how Jesus deepens the commandment against adultery by emphasizing that lust in the heart is where sin begins. We discussed how Jesus’ vivid imagery of cutting off a hand or plucking out an eye underscores the seriousness of dealing with temptation at its root. The study highlighted practical strategies for maintaining purity in today’s visually stimulating world, including accountability, spiritual disciplines, and understanding God’s design for sexuality. We were reminded that purity isn’t just about avoiding wrong actions but cultivating a transformed heart that seeks to honor God and others through our thoughts and intentions.
